Supporting Boston students during this health crisis
As we move into a period of sustained school closures, our goal at METCO Headquarters is to support Boston students and families as best we can. We have compiled resources that agencies throughout the region are providing, including food pick-up and home learning ideas.FOOD- The City of Boston's Office of Food Access and Boston Public Schools are ensuring that all young people have access to meals that they would normally receive at school. This map shows the more than 80 locations where breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.
- The YMCA of Greater Boston will be distributing breakfast and lunch for children under 18 all over the region. This list of locations and times will be continually updated as long as schools remain closed.
LEARNING AT HOME- Our partner Livius is offering their Online SAT and ACT Prep Course for free. The weekly 90-minute class with a live teacher is a great way for high school students to prepare for the college application process.
- Khan Academy offers free interactive exercises, videos, and articles for students in every grade and in most major subject areas. This scheduleprovides suggested lessons for every grade from Kindergarten to 12th.
