Dear LPS Families,
We’re excited to continue our composting program for the 2025–2026 school year! As part of LPS’s commitment to sustainability, students will learn how to reduce waste and make eco-friendly choices — and we’d love your support.
We’re looking for caregivers and community volunteers to help students sort lunch waste into compost, recycling, and trash. No experience needed — all you need is a CORI on file and then we’ll provide everything you need.
Volunteers will also help collect unopened, uneaten food (like milk, yogurts, and granola bars) for donation to the local food pantry and FoodLink. This effort reduces waste and supports our local and larger community — a great learning opportunity for students.
