• Gwen Blumberg joined the Lincoln School staff as a K-1 literacy specialist and K-4 literacy coach in the fall of 2009. She assumed the District's K-8 English Language Arts Content Specialist position in September of 2016.

     
    Mrs. Blumberg began her teaching career outside of Albany, NY where she taught both 4th grade and a combined language arts and social studies class in a 5th grade departmentalized/middle school setting. Upon receiving her Master of Science in Reading from the State University of New York at Albany, she moved to Massachusetts, where she taught first grade in Bedford, MA for many years.
     
    After leaving the classroom in 2002 to raise a family, Mrs. Blumberg taught as an adjunct professor for Lesley University in the Graduate School of Education teaching future teachers how to teach reading and writing. During this time, she also served as a practicum supervisor for Lesley University supervising student teachers seeking certification as reading specialists
     
    Mrs. Blumberg is passionate about helping all children develop literate lives. She is committed to partnering with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure they have the tools, training and support to teach and nurture life-long readers and writers.
     
    When not at school, you can find Mrs. Blumberg painting in her studio, digging in her garden or cheering for her son at a hockey game... always, ALWAYS with a book close by...
