Dear K-4 Families,
The week began with a beloved kindergarten enrichment program with Miko Imai, children's author and illustrator. She tells students how she learned to speak English through nursery rhymes, how she comes up with ideas for her books and illustrations, and then teaches them how to draw her character, Little Lumpty. Thanks to the PTO for funding this author visit!
Congratulations to the 3rd and 4th graders for completing the ELA MCAS this week! For families who haven't yet had students take the state assessment, I want to share part of a message that went to 3rd and 4th grade families:
MCAS achievement and growth results are useful data points for the school and district. They help us assess how effectively our curriculum and instruction are supporting students in developing the knowledge and skills needed to meet learning objectives. MCAS is one assessment that provides a snapshot of a student's abilities at a specific moment in time. However, it's just one piece of a much larger picture. A student's growth and development are better understood through the teacher's daily observations, their interactions with peers, and their work across all subjects over time.
We hope to see you at Math Night on Thursday evening! The Dining Commons and Learning Commons will be set up for families to learn from students, play math games and learn how math connects to our special subjects! See you at 6:00 pm!
Sincerely,
Sarah

Dear Families,
We are excited to be preparing for the 2025-26 kindergarten classes and look forward to meeting the families of our youngest incoming students!
Children must have reached the age of five (5) before October 1, 2025 to enter Kindergarten. The Lincoln Public Schools also enroll employee children who have been approved by the School Committee and Boston resident students through the METCO Program.
We ask families whose children are kindergarten eligible to complete the Intent to Enroll form linked here. The information you provide assists us with planning and allows us to communicate directly with you. If you indicate that your child will or may join us, we will send you updates including the Kindergarten Parent Information Night in April, the Kindergarten Orientation Day in June, and when the 2025-2026 registration portal is active.
If your child is currently enrolled at the Lincoln Preschool you do not need to register online since they are already enrolled in the Lincoln Public Schools. We do, however, appreciate receiving the Intent to Enroll Form!
We look forward to welcoming your child and working with you to ensure that your child’s first school experience is a happy and successful one!
Sincerely,
Sarah Collmer
