    Dear K-4 Families,

Many thanks to Karen Sheppard, 5-8 Music Teacher, LASMP (Lincoln After School Music Program) instrumental teachers, and the student musicians who performed for the 4th graders last week! The fourth graders will be making a selection for their 5th Grade instrumental block. Here are the resources shared at the demo this past week; please review this information prior to making a decision for your soon-to-be fifth grader(s) for next school year.

Congratulations to the Rainbow Club staff, students and families on their first ever Community Celebration that took place last Thursday. Lincoln School is proud to be a place where everyone belongs!

    Sincerely,

    Sarah

A Message from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) will conduct an Integrated Monitoring Review of Lincoln Public Schools during the week of April 14, 2025. Each school district, charter school, vocational school, and virtual school undergoes an Integrated Monitoring Review every three years. The areas addressed during an Integrated Monitoring Review are organized into two groups, known as Group A Universal Standards and Group B Universal Standards.

Lincoln Public Schools will be undergoing a Group A monitoring review that focuses on special education student identification and special education eligibility timelines; Individualized Education Program (IEP) development; programming and support services; procedural requirements for suspensions and equal opportunity.

The process includes interviews with district staff and administrators, a review of student records, policies and procedures, and school building visits. The process may also include parent/caregiver, student and teacher focus group meetings to gather additional information. Interpretation will be provided, if needed.

Parents/guardians and other stakeholders reach out to the Monitoring Review Chairperson, at moses.m.nduati@mass.gov to request a telephone interview. If anyone requires accommodation, such as translation, to participate in an interview, the Department will make the necessary arrangements.

Within approximately 60 business days after the onsite visit, the review chairperson will provide the (district or charter school) with a report that includes information on further actions that may be required. The public can access the report at https://www.doe.mass.edu/psm/tfm/default.html.

    March 13, 2025

    Dear Families,

We are excited to be preparing for the 2025-26 kindergarten classes and look forward to meeting the families of our youngest incoming students!

Children must have reached the age of five (5) before October 1, 2025 to enter Kindergarten. The Lincoln Public Schools also enroll employee children who have been approved by the School Committee and Boston resident students through the METCO Program.

We ask families whose children are kindergarten eligible to complete the Intent to Enroll form linked here. The information you provide assists us with planning and allows us to communicate directly with you. If you indicate that your child will or may join us, we will send you updates including the Kindergarten Parent Information Night in April, the Kindergarten Orientation Day in June, and when the 2025-2026 registration portal is active.

If your child is currently enrolled at the Lincoln Preschool you do not need to register online since they are already enrolled in the Lincoln Public Schools.  We do, however, appreciate receiving the Intent to Enroll Form!

We look forward to welcoming your child and working with you to ensure that your child’s first school experience is a happy and successful one!

    Sincerely,

    Sarah Collmer
