    Dear K-4 Families,

We had a terrific Community Meeting yesterday! The third-graders taught us about the importance of Positive Self Talk, shared tips on how to be our own best friend and change our thinking from negative to positive!  Thanks to Mrs. Berkowtiz, Mr. Bicknell, Ms. Hoffman, Ms. Katz, Mr. Kelly, Mrs. Montero, and Mrs. Staffin for organizing and preparing the students to lead our meeting!

I wanted to provide an update that Ms. Hamilton, METCO Director & AIDE Coordinator, is on medical leave until mid-April. In order to respect her leave time and privacy, we ask that families not reach out to Ms. Hamilton until she returns. Your child's teacher, Ms. Sears, Student Services Coordinator [asears@lincnet.org], or I would be glad to support your family in any way we can.

LPS Website Survey: We are working to improve the LPS lincnet.org website to better serve our families, staff, and community. Please help us by taking a moment to complete the LPS Website SurveyYour responses will be used to inform upcoming improvements to the website. Thanks in advance for your participation! The survey is open now and will close on Monday, February 10th.

Semester 1 Report Cards will be in the mail on Monday. The report card includes information about student growth in social development and work habits, as well as the achievement of specific standards (concepts and skills) in the different subjects. Standards-based reporting separates information about a student’s growth in social development and work habits from their achievement of specific concepts and skills.  Therefore, the report card is laid out in two parts with two different scales:

Growth as a Learner Frequency Scale

    Academic Achievement Standard Scale

    C

    Consistently

    All the time, independently

    4

Exceeding grade level standards at this time

    O

    Often

    Frequently, reasonable amount

    3

Achieving grade level standards at this time

    S

    Sometimes

    Occasionally, but not enough

    2

Progressing toward grade level standards at this time

    I

    Infrequently

    Rarely, this is a problem

    1

Performing below grade level standards at this time

Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions or check out report card information on our website:

Stay safe and warm this weekend!

    Sincerely,

    Sarah

  • 🌟Calling All Young Writers! 🌟

The September 25th PTO Minilink included descriptions of PTO Enrichment activities written by 5th grader Josiah Chow. The PTO invites enthusiastic young writers to contribute to the PTO Newsletter! If your child would like to share their thoughts, stories, or insights about their experiences with past PTO Enrichment programs or upcoming enrichments for their grades, we’d love to hear from them. You can email their submissions to enrichment@lpto.org or drop them off in the PTO Enrichment Box located in the cafeteria.

Let’s inspire the next generation of writers together!
