Dear Families,
Congratulations and thank you to the first graders and Mrs. Hoffman, music teacher, for their wonderful Fall in New England concert! The performance included delightful singing, expressive movement and confident speakers. It is quite an accomplishment and will hopefully be a treasured first grade memory for students and families, alike!
Thanks to the educators and you, the caregivers, for coming together for important conversations about student progress. I hope you have a clear picture of the strengths and goals for your child. Your engagement makes a difference in student outcomes. A 2023 Education Week article explains "...research around the world has shown that parents' involvement in and engagement with their child's education - including through parent-teacher conferences, parent-teacher organizations, school events, and at-home discussions about school - can lead to higher student achievement and better social-emotional outcomes." (Stanford, Libby."Does Parent Involvement Really Help Students? Here's What the Research Says." Education Week, 25 July 2023.) Thank you for your partnership!
Voting in the town of Lincoln will take place on Tuesday, November 5th in the Reed Gym (5-8 end). The hallway gate will be lowered to keep voting and school operations separate. We are expecting more traffic than usual on campus, and a few important changes for students and caregivers will be in effect on November 5th to help keep our students safe.
-
The bus loop will be closed to all vehicles, except school buses, while school is in session.
-
Procedure for tardy arrival and early dismissal: If your child is arriving late or being dismissed, please park in the South Lot and call the office (K-4: 781-259-9404 or 5-8: 781-259-9408). Bring your child to the door between the Preschool and South (red) Playgrounds and a staff member will pick up or dismiss your child to you. *There is no change to the Preschool arrival and dismissal procedure.
-
Students who walk or bike to school are encouraged to be especially cautious when crossing streets and use marked crosswalks. Please use the bike racks in front of the Lincoln School.
-
If you are planning to vote after dropping your child off in the morning, please follow the normal drop-off routine, then park in the 5-8 lot for voting. If you are heading to vote after dropping off in the Preschool or K-4 drop off, follow the normal traffic flow past the tennis courts, then turn left to follow Ballfield Rd to the 5-8 lot.
LPD will be on site to support arrival and dismissal, and to keep the campus safe, especially while school is in session.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Calling All Young Writers!
The September 25th PTO Minilink included descriptions of PTO Enrichment activities written by 5th grader Josiah Chow. The PTO invites enthusiastic young writers to contribute to the PTO Newsletter! If your child would like to share their thoughts, stories, or insights about their experiences with past PTO Enrichment programs or upcoming enrichments for their grades, we’d love to hear from them. You can email their submissions to enrichment@lpto.org or drop them off in the PTO Enrichment Box located in the cafeteria.
Let’s inspire the next generation of writers together!

From the Health Office
We are seeking donations of gently used clothing items to keep in the nurse's office for students who may need a change during the school day. Items such as sweatpants, athletic pants, and leggings in sizes 4-12 are especially helpful. Donations can be dropped off in the main office or nurses' office. Your generosity can make a big difference in ensuring our students feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Thank you for your support!

You do not need to RSVP, but if you would like to let volunteers know you’re attending and/or share information about your child, please complete this form. Parking is available at the Carroll School.
