• A Note from the Principal

    Dear K-4 Families,

Back to School Night is next week! Our General Assembly will include some brief remarks from me and from our incredible parent organizations. Teachers will give presentations about curriculum, special events, communication and more. The math and literacy specialists will be on hand if you have some quick questions, and I hope you will take a moment to say hello to all of our awesome specialists. A reminder that there isn't enough time or privacy to have in-depth conversations about individual students on Back to School Night. Caregivers are always welcome and encouraged to reach out directly with questions or concerns, and conferences are coming up starting next month! Don't forget that LEAP is offering childcare - click here to sign up!

Have a great weekend and see you next week!

    Sincerely,

    Sarah

In response to neighborhood concerns, the Department of Public Works, in consultation with the Town’s Roadway & Traffic and the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committees, developed a design for an improved crosswalk at the location of the existing crosswalk on Lincoln Road at Old Town Hall exchange.  The upgraded crosswalk will include a raised crosswalk table, and appropriate signage.  The new crosswalk should help slow traffic and create safer crossing for pedestrians and cyclists, especially for students and families who use the crossing to connect to the school campus.

Construction is expected to begin in October and be completed within a few weeks.

Lincoln School Foundation – Volunteers Needed

The Lincoln School Foundation (LSF)* is excited to get to work for the new school year. We are looking for a few more volunteers from K-8 families in Lincoln and Hanscom in order to do so. If you’re a caregiver interested in volunteering, we would love to chat more. We currently need help with our annual appeal, events, and website and social media. More specifics below on the latter as it’s a critical role.
LSF Technology, Website and Social Media Position

The Lincoln School Foundation is looking for a current K-8 caregiver volunteer to fill the Technology/Website/Social Media position on the board. The Technology advisor reviews and manages the website and our social media account. They also help with coordination of file-sharing. We meet once a month and time commitment would be spread throughout the year.

*The Lincoln School Foundation is a private non profit organization which awards community raised funds to faculty and staff in the Lincoln School District. Our goal is to help teachers reach beyond traditional programs in order to uncover fresh, innovative tools and techniques to bring to the classroom and school. Please visit our website for more information: https://www.lincolnschoolfoundation.org/.

If interested, please reach out to Philana Gnatowski (philana.gnatowski@lincolnschoolfoundation.org) or Vickie Slingerland (victoriaslingerland@lincolnschoolfoundation.org). Thank you!
