• A Note from the Principal

    Dear K-4 Families,

I hope that summer has offered you time for some recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation! It has been fun to see Lincoln School kids at Lincoln Summer Camp, summer baseball, and "around".  Inspired by my son's 4th grade project on Bryce Canyon, my family went on an RV trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in Utah! It was an amazing trip and especially fun that we had a "free pass" through the America the Beautiful/Every Kid Outdoors program that is available to all 4th graders across the country. I hope your summer included some adventure, whether it was right here at home or away!

It has been busy on Ballfield Road with camp and the annual deep clean by our awesome facilities crew! Many teachers and administrators from across the district have been on campus for professional development and summer work, as well.  The K-4 Summer Planning Team assembled to develop plans to continue our Responsive Classroom work and prepare for our work toward school wide goals around behavior and discipline and family and community engagement. I’m looking forward to sharing our goals in more detail as the year progresses!  For now, please know that we always strive to support all students in their learning and growth, and to feel safe and happy in their class and school community.

    Here are a few updates!

    Class Placement Update

You will receive an email with your child’s class placement tomorrow, August 16th. There were many considerations in the creation of the class lists and we believe they are balanced with regard to academic proficiencies, emotional maturity, behavioral dynamics, peer relationships, and services received.

This year, families will receive the name of their child’s teacher. We are not sending the full class list due to confidentiality requirements.

    Kindergarten Visit Day 8/28 @ 1:00

There is a Visit Day for all kindergarten students and caregivers on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 1:00-2:00. Teachers will welcome you into the classrooms and provide more details about the kindergarten routines and program.

    Grades 1-4 Meet & Greet 8/28 @ 2:00

Students entering grades 1-4 are invited to a “Meet and Greet” on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 2:00-3:00.  This is an opportunity to come say hello to your child’s teacher, find their cubby/locker, visit their classroom, and see the specialist teachers before school starts.

    K-4 New Family Gathering

Students and families who are new to the Lincoln School K-4 are invited to gather in the Lincoln School Learning Commons on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 3:00-4:00 for a chance to connect with each other and meet some Lincoln School experts!
