Students should arrive at the school beginning at 7:45. Students will meet their classroom/homeroom teacher outside of the building and will be guided into the building as a class.
Teachers will review meeting locations with the students during the Meet and Greet. For those of you new to the school be assured that all teachers and staff will be on hand to make sure students arrive safely and are directed to the right meeting point.
Members of the base command, and mascots from both the Hanscom Air Force Base Fire Department and Security Forces will also be on hand to welcome students back to school.

The safety of our students, staff, and families is a priority in our community, particularly during the transition into the routines of a new school year. As a community, we will need to work together to follow drop-off and pick-up protocols that keep everyone safe. Please be aware of the following safety expectations and the traffic flow for the car line.
- PK-2 students whose parents drive them to and from school can only be dropped off and picked up in the drop-off/pick-up lane in the parking lot on the South side of the school via Heritage Road (marked in green on the map below).
- Students in grades 3-8 whose parents drive them to and from school can only be dropped off and picked up in the drop-off/pick-up lane in the parking lot in the front of the school via Marrett Street (marked in yellow on the map below).
- If you have children across grade levels, please drop off in the lot that is dedicated to the youngest child.
- Please do not drop students off in the no drop off zones which are notated on the map below in red. All of Marrett Street is also a no drop-off zone.
- Students are not permitted to cross through the parking lots unattended by an adult during drop-off or pick-up.
- The drop-off/pick-up lane is a moving lane. Parking is prohibited. This lane is also a fire zone. No car can be left idle or left unattended in this lane at any time. This is a violation of Massachusetts’ fire code and base policy. Be advised that the HAFB Fire Department and Security Forces can ticket you.
- Handicapped parking spaces are reserved for drivers with authorized handicapped parking permits.
- Students should only exit the car via the passenger side. If possible, please place children on the right (passenger) side of the car to expedite drop off.
- If your child is still in a car seat, you should pull into a parking space in order to help them out of their car seat. A staff member can then help them cross the street and to their grade level door.
- Students in K-2 will be given two yellow dismissal placards. On the placard will be the student’s name, grade and teacher. The person picking up the child (as a walker or in the car line) will be required to show this card to the teacher. This will ensure that we are sending the child home with a safe person. For example, if your neighbor is going to pick up one day, you would give the placard to your neighbor. If you do not bring your placard to dismissal, you will be required to show your ID to the Principal or the Main Office staff.

Our goal will be to assist students swiftly and safely during these times so that we may keep traffic flowing at a reasonable pace. We encourage you to allow for additional travel time during back-to-school time and on inclement weather days. As a reminder, K-8 students can be dropped off beginning, and no earlier than, 7:45 AM. Students who arrive after 8:00 AM will be considered tardy (unless they have excusable lateness for an appointment that cannot be scheduled outside of school hours). If students are tardy or need to be dismissed they should enter on the primary side of the school.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Please partner with us to ensure the safety of our school and base community members. School and HAFB officials ask members of the community to honor the procedures outlined at all times. We appreciate your patience during the back-to-school transition. The safety of our students, staff, and families is a priority in our community, particularly during the transition into the routines of a new school year!

Menus - Menus will be posted before the start of school. Once they are active, you will be able to access them HERE. Please remember that menus are subject to change.

MySchoolBucks - MySchoolBucks will be active beginning August 23, 2026. Once the system is active, you will be able to add money to your student’s meal account.

Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications - Attached is the SY27 Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application. Families may submit a paper application or apply online HERE.

Sharing Your Student’s Eligibility Status - If you would like your student’s Free & Reduced-Price Meal eligibility status to be shared, upon your request, with school principals for qualifying school programs (such as bussing, school pictures, etc.) or with Parks & Recreation, you will need to complete the this sharing form.

Meal Modifications - If your student requires a substitution or modification to school meals due to a medical condition or food allergy, a medical professional must complete the required form and return it to:
- For example, if your student has a documented celiac disease diagnosis and requires gluten-free meals, the medical statement must be completed by a recognized medical authority.
- If we do not receive a completed medical statement from a recognized medical professional, your student will receive the regular school meal. Medical statements completed by parents or guardians will not be accepted.

HANSCOM SCHOOL ATHLETICS
Dear Caregivers of Hanscom School Grades 5-8 Students,
My name is Alana McLaughlin, and I’m the new Athletic Director for Lincoln and Hanscom Schools. I hope you’re enjoying your summer.
I am writing to inform you about our fall after-school athletic opportunities for your child(ren). The Hanscom School Athletic program offers boys and girls soccer, cross country, and field hockey. The fall season runs from August 31, 2026 through Friday, October 30, 2026. There are no athletic games or practices during weekends. All practices will be held after school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 2:50 to 4:30 & Friday from 2:50 to 4:00.
Students can pick up paperwork on the table in the commons before you enter the gym or in the offices. I will be at the Meet and Greet Friday 8/28/26 at 1:00 pm, for questions and sign ups. Paperwork can be turned into the coaches or the office, please make sure you write what sport your child(ren) will be playing. All paperwork must be turned in by August 31, 2026.
Soccer and Field Hockey Tryouts(Grades 6-8)
- Boys Soccer (coached by Stephen Thomas) and Girls Soccer(coached by Brenda Simpson): Monday, Aug. 31, 3:00-4:30; Tue, Sep. 1, 3:00-4:30
- All student-athletes must bring their own water bottle, snack, cleats, shin guards and soccer socks.

Kindly note that coming to tryouts and participating does not guarantee your child to a spot on the team that they sign up for. Regrettably, team sizes are limited to support safety and the supervision required for the season.
Under Massachusetts’s regulations for Physical Examinations of school children, no child may participate without the results of a physical exam on file in the school nurse’s office and updated medication with doctor’s orders if applicable. All students must have had a physical within 13 months prior to the start of a season (July 2025 or later) to participate in the Lincoln School Athletic program.
In order to try out and participate in after school athletics, each student must have the following on file before tryouts begin; all are included in this Link and will be available in hard copy form in school for students to pick up.
- A signed Hanscom Sports Registration form.
- The results of a physical exam on file in the school nurse’s office (August 2025 or later)
- A signed Extracurricular Activities Medical Questionnaire.
4. A Parent and Student Head Injury Training Affidavit signed by a parent/guardian and student.

Beginner Group and private lesson teachers will be there to meet students and families, answer questions and give demonstrations of instruments.
Beginner classes are open for students grades 4-8 who are beginners on the instrument. (No prior experience.)

This fall for the 17th year, Sudbury Flag Football League will be running an organized flag football
program in Sudbury. This is a non-contact contact version of football where young players can develop their passing, catching and defending skills.
The SFFL Is for BOTH Boys & Girls. The games will be played by the Official National Flag Football rules.Each player who is placed on a team will receive an NFL replica jersey with NFL team colors with matching shorts and a flag belt and flags.
Registration for Sudbury Fall Flag Football League is open and we currently accepting applications for its 2026 Spring league for children who are currently grades K through 9.
Games will be played on Sundays. There will be 8 regular season games plus play-off games. The
majority of games will be played on the field turf.
We have a limited number of spots available. The first proposed date of the league is Sunday 9/13. The drop-dead date for registration is Friday 9/4.
Please do not wait till the last minute because once we hit capacity, we will NOT be able to add any new players. Unfortunately, last year we had to turn some players away.

The Middlesex County 4-H Fifes and Drums is actively recruiting new members who want to learn how to play the fife, snare drum, or bass drum. Composed of youth aged 8 to 18, the corps has performed at Boston’s First Night festivities, Drummer’s Call in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, and Concord’s Patriots’ Day ceremonies. The corps is led by its members, who elect their leaders and determine their events and repertoire each season.
