Gr. 8 Pool Party, June 18, 11:00am

Dear 8th Grade Families,

We’re excited to celebrate a big milestone for our students—their upcoming Promotion Ceremony and all the festivities that follow!

Pool Party
Join us as we continue the celebration on June 18th from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at Codman Pool!

PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR WAIVERS  Codman Pool Guest Waiver.docx

This event is a special opportunity for our 8th graders to spend time together and celebrate the end of their middle school years. While students are welcome to swim, swimming is completely optional. There will be plenty of opportunities to relax, socialize, enjoy food and drinks, and visit the ice cream truck.

Whether they choose to swim or simply spend time with friends, we hope all students will join us for a fun afternoon outdoors as we celebrate this milestone together.

Codman Pool staff will administer swim tests for students who wish to use the deep end of the pool. Students may use the shallow end without completing a swim test. Please have your child bring a towel and sunscreen.

The late bus will be available for transportation back to Boston

Volunteers Needed
These events are made possible by our amazing parent community! Thank you to those who have signed up. If you would still like to help, the Sign Up genius is HERE

CodeUnity

My name is Anvi from Shrewsbury High School.I wanted to introduce to you a coding initiative called CodeUnity. For the inaugural cohort, we had 30 kids sign up, many of whom participated in our seasonal hackathon, project competitions and other engaging events.

This summer, we plan to host two Python programs: one is to teach coding through art projects called TurtleLab, and the other is through developing beginner real world applications called C.O.R.E.

Students will participate in these classes once or twice a week (weeknight and weekend) from June 23rd to August 1st. This cohort will take the students from beginners to intermediate programmers who understand how to develop a program.

Our classes are in group sessions, and will help students work both individually and in small groups with people as motivated to learn Python coding as they are!

The sign up form for the camp can be accessed from this link:

Please visit our website or review our flyers for examples of past student projects from a similar cohort.

Sincerely,
Anvi

Join Lincoln Sports Academy for its inaugural year - what we expect to be the highlight of the summer! This special week builds on the traditions so many have come to love: friendly, competitive games like soccer, capture the flag, football, gatorball (and more!), relaxing lunches at the pool, and a weeklong, camp-wide tournament that brings everyone together, win or lose. It's EPIC!

We’re also excited to introduce new games and traditions that will make this experience even more memorable!

Camp is sponsored by Lincoln Parks & Recreation and led by Lincoln residents Bryan Doo and Kurt MacLaurin. Bryan’s company, Optimal Fitness, will operate the camp, bringing over 25 years of experience to our town. The camp will run rain or shine, with activities held on Codman Field and also in the Reed Gym.

Resources for Families

Tailored for Caregivers

SUN Bucks

SUN Bucks, the federal food benefit program once known as Summer EBT, is returning for summer 2026. SUN Bucks provides a $120 lump-sum summer benefit per school-aged child for income-eligible families. The program is administered by the state Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) in partnership with DESE and with assistance from schools.

SUN Bucks income eligibility standards are the same as those for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). As such, all enrolled students identified as meeting the income eligibility standards for free or reduced-price lunch during school year 2025-26, either through an NSLP household paper application or direct certification, are automatically eligible for SUN Bucks. Students identified as homeless, migrant, runaway or participating in Head Start are also automatically eligible. Students who do not meet the aforementioned criteria can apply for SUN Bucks benefits through DTA by visiting www.DTAConnect.com.
