K-4 Family Updates Newsletter |
Dear K-4 Caregivers,
Happy April! April is Autism Acceptance Month and we will be sharing information about Autism, as well as highlight strengths the achievements of people with Autism throughout the month. Autism is a different way of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world. People with autism may be very creative, have intense passions, and need kindness, patience, and acceptance to thrive. This month we will learn how to understand and celebrate people with Autism.
March Book Madness came to an exciting close on Friday with this suspenseful announcement from Ms. O'Sullivan:
We kicked things off with 18 fierce contenders, each one fighting to survive the ultimate reading showdown. Round by round, the competition intensified - 18 became 8, then 4 - as only the strongest stories remained standing.
Now, it all came down to the Championship Battle - the biggest, most intense face-off of the season!
Two incredible finalists rose above the rest: Don't Trust Fish vs.The Shadow and the Ghost. It was a clash of creativity, suspense, and reader passion - but in the end, only one could claim the crown.
After every vote was counted and every voice was heard, the decision was made...
The Lincoln Foxes' 2026 March Madness Champion is...Don't Trust Fish!
A huge congratulations to our winner - and ato all the amazing b ooks that made this year's competition unforgettable!
Come to Family Literacy Night on April 14th for more reading fun! You can order pizza for a quick dinner before the event. Details below!
Sincerely,

Dear Lincoln School Composting Volunteers,
Thank you so much for your awesome support this school year! Since January, we have had six amazing volunteers helping out over multiple days. While this number is down from twenty unique volunteers from September-December, we still LOVE our volunteers and whether you joined us for one session or many, we truly appreciate YOU and your time.
As we look ahead to the end year, we are in dire need of volunteers and would be delighted to see you again– or to have you help spread the word about this important work we are doing in our school with others who might also be interested in volunteering.
If you'd like to spend time with your child as you volunteer, your child is welcome to join you at the compost table if they would like to pull up a chair and eat their lunch with you, don a pair of composting gloves, or use the coveted composting tongs!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or suggestions. Thank you again for your invaluable support!
Most sincerely,
Gwen Blumberg & Nicole McDonagh gblumberg@lincnet.org / nmcdonagh@lincnet.org |
