We are thrilled to celebrate Lincoln’s enduring legacy as one of the seven founding METCO districts. Today, that spirit is more vibrant than ever, thanks to the incredible talent of the LPS Step Team!
Members of the Step Team gave a high-energy, joyful performance at the METCO Community Assembly last Saturday and the team has been invited to perform at the METCO 60th Anniversary Gala: The Opportunity Ball on May 1st! This is a prestigious honor, and we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations to our amazing Steppers and Coaches Hamilton & Kearse!
We are entering an exciting new chapter and want you to be part of it! Next week, you’ll have the chance to meet the three finalists for our METCO Director position.

The kitchen is no longer selling cookies on Fridays. In lieu of cookies, students can purchase an ice cream for $1.00.

Plankton and Krabs are scheming, everyone is panicking, neighbors are turning on each other ... can SpongeBob, Sandy, and Patrick save the town? March 11th - 14th, Lincoln School will present The SpongeBob Musical, Youth Edition. More than 70 students from grades 5 through 8 make up the cast and stage crew. They are supported by the creativity of dozens of adult volunteers working behind the scenes. A whole community working together ... Can Bikini Bottom learn to do the same? Come see the show to find out! Running time on this family-friendly show is 60-70 minutes. The show is based on the television series by Stephen Hillenburg, with a book by Kyle Jarrow. It contains original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, T.I. and Songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny & Andy Paley. Additional lyrics by Jonathan Coulton, additional music by Tom Kitt Musical Production. The show was originally conceived by Tina Landau. With zany characters, some thoughtful messages, plenty of humor, and SpongeBob's infectious positivity, the show is sure to leave everyone smiling. Tickets are general admission and available at the door from 30 minutes before showtime: adults $10, students/seniors, LPS Employees $5. Cash or check only. |

Lincoln Public Schools is a proud founding member of the METCO program, and this year METCO is celebrating its 60th year. As part of its 60th anniversary, METCO Inc. is looking to raise funds to support a variety of student programming and professional learning opportunities.
The bulk of METCO funding comes through state grants to participating districts, and this funding goes to support METCO transportation and district staffing costs, along with a number of local programs. But METCO Inc. also sponsors a variety of programs for participating students through its Boston headquarters. For individuals or organizations that may wish to donate to METCO’s fundraising efforts, they have set up a donation page. For any Lincoln-associated families or organizations that may wish to donate, please be sure to mention the Lincoln connection when filling out your donation. And thank you! |

Topic: Childhood irritability Title: Responding Skillfully in the Context of Childhood Irritability Date: March 18th, 12:00PM-1:00PM
Learning Objectives: Childhood irritability, which can range from developmentally normative to serious and concerning, can often be difficult for adults to manage effectively in the home and at school. Irritability is often paired with behavioral responses like aggression, arguing, withdrawal, and even high-risk behaviors. In this webinar, caregivers and educators will: 1) gain a stronger foundational understanding of childhood irritability, 2) learn practical and effective strategies for staying grounded, supportive, and still firm, and 3) become familiar with therapeutic interventions that may be used as referral options should children and their families need additional support.
