Superintendent's Bi-weekly Message: December 19, 2025
Dear Lincoln Public Schools Families,
We went from single-digit temperatures earlier in the week to rainy and almost 60 degrees today – New England weather at its finest! For this week’s message I have an update about upcoming changes to the district website, along with information for the parents of current 8th graders going to Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School next year.
Website changes
Starting next week there will be some changes to our district website. We are moving to a new communications platform called ParentSquare, and the first step is to migrate our website to the new system. This is mostly an “under-the-hood” change that will lead to cosmetic differences in the short term, but we did take the opportunity to make improvements that families had identified as priorities; for example, making it easier to find the most visited content including calendars, lunch menus, and forms. The new website platform also meets new Americans with Disability Act (ADA) accessibility requirements, making it more accessible to all members of our community.
We have also begun the work to refresh older content on the website and this effort will continue throughout the year. In 2026, we will be implementing additional ParentSquare tools to improve school newsletters, classroom-family communication, and the accessibility and translation of school communications. Thank you to Mark McDonough, Lincoln School teacher and our website content manager, for his tireless work on this project!
L-S 8th to 9th transition information
The Student Services Department at the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Lincoln Public Schools, and Sudbury Public Schools has planned an information session for all parents and guardians of students transitioning to L-S who receive special education services on an IEP.
This will be a remote event held on January 14, 2026 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. The Zoom link for the event is:
During this session there will be information on the expected timelines for transition planning, as well as the developmental shifts to expect as students age on from middle school to high school. You will have a chance to hear from each of the school’s student services administration, and you are invited to join a Question & Answer session at the end.
Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!
