Dressing for the Weather
As we clearly enter the winter season, we ask that families ensure their middle schoolers are dressed for the weather and temperatures. We want the kids to have a chance to be outside as often as we can, but we still have students showing up to school without jackets or hats and some even in shorts when the temperature has been in the low 20s. We want them to have unstructured time to play but want them safe as well.
Students who do not want to go outside may sign up to use the library during recess on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Nurse Needed for D.C. Trip
We are in need of a nurse to attend our four-day, three-night overnight trip to D.C. with the 8th grade class. The trip will run Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29. The cost to attend would be covered by the district. If you are a nurse or know of one that may be able to help us out, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Gift Wrapping Fundraiser for Grade 8
Another fundraising effort the 8th graders are excited about is the upcoming gift wrap fundraiser. This will be in the Still Tarbell Room at the Lincoln Library on Sunday, December 21 from 1:30 to 4:30.
Winter Concerts
Thank you to all who were able to come out for our winter concerts this week. We tried a new during-the-day format and we were so glad to see the kids be able to perform for all their peers and families. The next concerts will be in conjunction with L-S in March during Music Appreciation Month and then again in May here at school.
Winter Basketball Underway
The boys and girls basketball tryouts wrapped up last Friday and teams have been set. The schedule is available on the school’s athletics webpage and live updates are linked to it. Thank you to Coaches Jodie Conway and Jordan Day for heading up the two teams.

National History Day Judges Needed
Judge Registration is Open for all Regional Contests and Showcases: Judges are the backbone of the History Day program. No prior experience is required– just an interest in history and a willingness to learn from some incredible young people. Please hit up your networks, friends, and families and encourage them to register for one (or more!) of our 5 contest sites. It’s a great day, you’re fed well, and teachers can earn 10 PDPs.
