PARENT INVOLVEMENT IN SPECIAL EDUCATION
The special education department views parents as partners in the educational process. Every effort is made to include parents in Team meetings. When parents are unable to be physically present, teleconferencing or other options for parental input are considered. Special education liaisons are accessible to parents throughout the year to answer questions and provide guidance related to special education issues. At the district level Lincoln Special Education Parent Advisory Council (LPAC) offers opportunities for parents to work with administrators and teachers to support the school system’s special education program.
