State and federal laws and regulations govern special education entitlements and practice. The most recent federal regulations associated with IDEA 2004 were published August 14, 2006. The effective date of these regulations is October 13, 2006. The Massachusetts Department of Education has indicated that they will revise current regulations to comply with the new federal release. This site will be updated to include that link when the state regulations are released.
