Lincoln School Library Mission Statement
Our library is the heart of our school community. All children, educators, caregivers, and community members are welcome to read, research, explore, create, collaborate, play and experience the fellowship and joy of learning in this space. Our library strives to reflect the shared and unique values and identities of every member of our community and uplift the voices of those who have been historically silenced or marginalized in the past. Our physical and digital collections and the ways we use this space will continually evolve and change to reflect the dynamic nature of our community and those within it. Our library is a place that provides ongoing opportunities to learn about our world, ourselves, and others.

Hi! I'm Gwen Blumberg, Lincoln School Librarian.
I've been part of Lincoln Public Schools since 2009, starting as a literacy specialist/coach and then serving as the District's Literacy Content Specialist for eight years before becoming the school librarian in fall 2024. I hold MA certification as an Elementary Teacher (1-6), Reading Teacher (K-12), and Library Teacher (K-12).
Before joining Lincoln, I taught elementary grades (1, 4, and 5) in NY, worked as an adjunct professor, and supervised student teachers for a local university. Throughout these roles, my passion has remained constant: connecting kids with books and empowering them to create, consume, and share stories that help them understand themselves and their world. I'm delighted to spend my days in our library surrounded by books and our amazing students—it's truly the best job in school!
When I'm not here, you'll find me exploring the city with my husband searching for street art, tending my honeybees, playing roller derby, or curled up with a good book.
