E-mail is the best method of contact, and I will do my best to respond within 24 hours. Every Friday, children will bring home a Home-School Folder containing information from both the classroom and the school as well as activities from the week. They will also bring home a Song and Poetry Folder with songs and poems we have learned throughout the week. Please return both on Mondays. We do not assign homework in K105, though periodically we may send home an activity as part of a project or unit.
Please make sure your child is wearing clothing that allows them to comfortably move around and get dirty! Most days we will get outside twice a day, so please plan accordingly. It is also helpful to keep an extra set of clothing in your child's locker in case of emergencies. Remember to switch out clothing as the seasons change and your child grows! Finally, please be sure to have your child wear appropriate footwear on Tuesdays and Fridays for P.E.
Snack and Lunch
Children should bring a healthy snack each day. It is also helpful to clearly separate your child's snack from their lunch so they know which is which.
Lunch is from 12:10-12:35 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Children may bring lunch or buy using money from their online accounts. Each morning children will indicate their "lunch choice" on a sign-up sheet, so please make sure your child knows his or her plans for lunch. For more information on buying lunch, see Nutrikids
While we do not include food in our birthday celebrations, we do have a few fun ways to celebrate! Children can invite adults from their family to come in and read a story, preferably at the beginning or end of the day. As a class, we will also create a "birthday jar" for each child. Classmates will color a bit of salt and add it to a jar, offering the birthday boy or girl a birthday wish. The child will get to take the finished jar home to remember the special day.
