• Centricity2 Training

     
    Please note that teachers who complete these professional development modules will earn from two to five Professional Development Points. In order to qualify as a program eligible to receive PD Points, Massachusetts DESE requires a minimum of 10 hours on a topic. Therefore, teachers will need to combine the points received from the offerings on this page with points received from other PD programs on a similar topic before these points will count toward license renewal.
     

    1. Centricity2 Updated Training

    (For teachers who already have a Teacher Website)

     

    Option A. Self-Guided Tutorials

    Teacher watches video tutorials and/or reads pdf tutorials on their own time; updates their website. 5 PDPs awarded when website is updated to include new layouts and apps

    Live Session: Review updated Teacher Website with building ITS. (15 mins.)

     

    Option B. Face to Face Instruction

    Teacher attends two 30-minute training sessions plus 3 hours updating website on their own time. 5 PDPs awarded when website is updated to include new layouts and apps.

     

    Session 1 (30 mins.)

    • Account settings, Subscriptions, Calendar filters, Where to go for help
    • Section Workspace Overview: Tools, Page Actions, Organize Pages, Recycle Bin
    • Schoolwires Editor: Update homepage contact info, if necessary

     

    Session 2 (30 mins.)

    • Kinds of Pages, Add a Flex Page, Add Page Title
    • Practice Changing  Layouts, Adding Apps
    • Calendars: Event Categories, Posting events to Other (School) Calendars

     


     

    2. Centricity2 Basic Training

    (For teachers new to LPS)

     

    Option A. Self-Guided Tutorials

    Teacher watches video tutorials and/or reads pdf tutorials on their own time; updates their website; attends a face-to face follow-up session with building ITS. 45 mins contact with building ITS. 5 PDPs awarded when website is updated to include new layouts and apps

     

    Live Session 1 (15 mins.): Expectations, Overview of all components of training and locations of resources

    Video Tutorials

    • Section Workspace in Centricity2 (27 mins.)

    Live Session 2 (30 mins.): Review updated Teacher Website. Review LPS WPG.

     

    Option B. Face to Face Instruction

    Three contact hours. Two hours homework: Reading and designing/developing website. 5 PDPs awarded when website is created.

     


     

    3. Centricity2 Advanced Training Modules

    Further individual/team training will be offered throughout the year for those interested in learning to use the more advanced features/tools of Centricity2.

    Option B. Face to Face Instruction

     Teacher meets with building ITS, then updates website with new app/tool. 2 PDPs per module.
