METCO COORDINATING COMMITTEE The METCO Coordinating Committee consists of Lincoln and Boston parents, staff and community volunteers. The Committee meets a few times a year at a member’s house in Boston or Lincoln or at a restaurant. If you are interested in joining, please contact Jane Kline jkline@lincnet.rg. The Committee tries to provide more informal ways for Boston and Lincoln parents and children to get together. For instance, the Committee provides a regularly scheduled Visiting Bus on the second Wednesday of every month. The late bus leaves the Hartwell Center at 4 p.m., thus encouraging after school get-togethers. The Committee sponsors a Family Partnership Program that matches Boston and Lincoln families who have children in the same grade (K-5). Each family partnership functions differently and may grow into shared activities such as local sightseeing, attending sporting events, sleepovers, and the like. These informal relationships broaden and deepen understanding and promote a more open communication. Other activities include the Reverse Visiting Bus, Games Day, picnics, sewing parties and multi-cultural programs.
