Principal's Message
The Lincoln School is an exceptional place for teaching and learning. Our students in grades 5-8 have opportunities to explore curriculum in a variety of ways. The arts program and the electives allow students to try new things and to delve more deeply into their musical, artistic, dramatic, and athletic interests. We are continually looking for ways to involve students in leadership roles, having them run assemblies, work with Student Council, and look at social justice issues through ELNA. As students transition into middle school, it may become harder to get information directly from them about their school experience. The Lincoln Public Schools web site is an excellent resource for families (www.lincnet.org). I encourage you to use the menu to the left to access information that will explain and enhance your child’s school experience. Teachers add to the homework link on a regular basis, allowing them to keep up with their work. In addition, the “Parent Resources” link offers a continually updated location for you to access news and information that will support your ability to strengthen the Home-School collaboration. I am always available to work with you to support the learning needs of your child. Do not hesitate to contact me for information or to share ideas or concerns. The best way to educate a child is for the parents and the school to be a team that works to support the whole child. We need to hear from you in order to support your child. Finally, a way to be involved in your child’s education without being in their classroom is presented through our school council or PTA. We also welcome parents to teach electives with the collaboration of a staff member. If this is something of interest to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sharon Hobbs
