In today’s busy world it is difficult to manage work, home life, and children’s scheduling. Research shows that children on the primary level require 10 hours of sleep per night on a consistent basis. Easier said than done!
During the 2006-2007 school year Hanscom Schools collaborated with The Tripod Project* to conduct a survey with our students. The results of this survey indicated that sleepiness was a significant factor in predicting how engaged students are in school (i.e. The less sleepy, the more engaged).
In an effort to support our Home-School partnership, and assist families with this challenging task, we are offering our help to develop a variety of after school schedules that meet the needs of your family’s busy life.
Attached you will find directions on how you can create a schedule template, sample schedules, list of suggested activities to include in your schedule, a feedback form, and websites on the importance of sleep for children.
