LPS Student-Parent Handbook 2010-2011  {Summer Reading List}

 

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Hanscom Primary School, serving students in grades K-3, who are dependents of active duty military personnel residing on Hanscom Air Force Base. At Hanscom Primary School we aim to keep student learning at the core of our mission, supported by a caring and respectful school community, with a strong home-school partnership. Small class size,  comprehensive curriculum and, most importantly, highly qualified and dedicated teachers provide our students with an educational program that fosters learning, both academic and social-emotional,  and continually challenges them to achieve.

Each year, Hanscom Primary School uses a school theme to engage the school community in important and enriching learning activities. This year’s theme, “All Write!” is focused on writing. We’ll be looking at improving student writing through a writer’s workshop format and increasing enthusiasm for the craft of writing through a variety of activities. We hope to have a visit from a children’s book author and to share different types of writing at our monthly Community Meetings and in our classrooms.In the spring we’ll have a special night for students and their families to come to school and do some engaging “All Write!” activities together.
