Literacy Specialists are an integral part of a school's regular education program. We collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement a balanced, literacy program for Lincoln School K-8. I appreciate the opportunity to teach in Lincoln because of its diverse population, high expectations, and on-going commitment to meet the literacy needs of all learners.

My friends and colleagues ask me how I can teach the same subject year after year, after year. It's because I have been continually interested in discovering what "works" for a striving (struggling to learn) student. I am able to witness their faces at "I got it!" moments, and I know that their lives have changed, just a little bit, for the better. When that happens, my life changes, just a little bit, for the better, too. It's win-win! I can't imagine a better career than teaching a child to read and write.
